Box score of the week

UPDATE: Hah!!! I finally stumped my readers who are baseball fans (either that, or no one cares about this bit).

The significance of these box scores is Texas shortstop Toby Harrah played all eighteen innings in that July 1976 doubleheader --- and never had one fielding chance! That is a record which still stands today.

As Ernie Banks used to say: "Let's play TWO!!"

What is the significance of the July 25, 1976 doubleheader featuring the Chicago White Sox & Texas Rangers?

Game 1.

Game 2.

That's good, Brad. I looked at those boxscores for a while and couldn't figure it out. It's the old presence of absence trick.

It is pretty amazing that a shortstop could play a doubleheader and not have a chance at all. I can't recall any game where the shortstop didn't get at least one chance.
