I can't recall the last time I watched a New Year's Eve TV special to ring in a new year. However, it sounds as thought the NYE broadcast standards have plummeted significantly since the days of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. So much so that the hosts are now talking about vaginal steaming and a sexual escapade involving Gloria Vanderbilt.
If these are the new standards for prime time New Year's Eve broadcasts, then I'm taking a hard pass.
