Nothing to fear when haikus are here

The NFL released its 2011 schedule Tuesday evening. As has been custom for about the past eight seasons, the Super Bowl champion will host the NFL's first regular season game, as the Green Bay Packers will welcome the New Orleans Saints to Lambeau Field on Thursday, September 8.

Of course, given the current labor situation, it's far from a certainty that the NFL regular season will begin on time.

But hey, why fret such a trivial matter. After all, NFL PR guy Greg Aiello goes to great lengths to comfort us in these uncertain times for the country's most popular sport. Upon release of the 2011 matchups, Aiello treated us to these gems:

Litigation-Lockout Haiku: Let us play, they say/Well how about agreeing/To a CBA?

In another haiku, Aiello invokes the name of the Commish himself.

Goodell Playing Schedule Haiku: "A great day for fans/We are doing all we can/To prepare to play."

Well, I don't know about you, but I feel much better about things.

We can do better than that. Hell, this even rhymes:

Now join the chorus
Hey, Roger and DeMaurice
Don't go slow loris
