The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled today that Democrat Al Franken won the U.S. Senate election and said he was entitled to an election certificate that would lead to him being seated in the Senate.
"Affirmed," wrote the Supreme Court, unanimously rejecting Republican Norm Coleman's claims that inconsistent practices by local elections officials and wrong decisions by a lower court had denied him victory.
I've already thrown in my two cents as to how Coleman blew this one. But the fact that this state can elect a proverbial fart joke to public office is utterly digraceful. Franken is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the Democrats since they now have a 60-40 majority in the US Senate.
Believe me, I'm praying for this country more fervently than I ever have before!

Are they really going to make this guy a senator?
Franken's radio show was a flop because few wanted to hear his boring anti-American drivel, but that didn't stop the DNC from putting this bozo on the ballot. And they were going to do the same for Chris Tingle Matthews until polls revealed widespread revulsion at the thought.
Then Team Obama and their MSM allies mocked mere "entertainer" Rush Limbaugh for having significant influence in the GOP. The DNC even ran TV ads to trash him... when he's never even thought about running for office, to the best of my knowledge.
So a failed entertainer's OK for Democratic Senator... but a successful conservative one isn't even allowed to have influence? -please

Coleman's election-night 700-point lead turned into a post-recount 300-point lead for Franken? What explanation is there for this? Something is rotten in the state of Minnesota.
Greg,
Coleman's election night lead dwindled from 700 election night to about 250 when the results were certified, yet there was no demand for transparency from his camp. Apparently Norm thought he could ride out a recount maintaining that razor-thin margin. That's where Coleman totally dropped the ball. Was there fraud? Possibly, but the issue wasn't broached in a timely manner. Disgraceful all around.
I'm not willing to let go of the fraud charge just because the Coleman camp screwed up. I was effectively disenfranchised by criminals in Cook, Ramsey and Hennepin counties who went and "found" extra votes for their guy. Before this happened I talked to people and told them what would happen. "Franken will win because they will find the necessary votes and keep counting until they get the desired results." Of course that's exactly what happened.
This whole process has been a disgrace. We'll see if our new senator can transcend the very dirty process that got him here.
I understand the MN DFL plans to have Carrot Top establish residency and run for governor in the next election. They also want to get Rosie O'Donnell on the ticket as Lt. Gov.
I normally wouldn't give a rat's ass who won on the DFL side; at least Amy Klobuchar was busting her hump doing a serious job in the limelight. Al Franken's election makes me want to puke.
That he was the DFL party's number one choice was a joke; that he convinced enough nimrods with Bush Derangement Syndrome in MN to vote for him was an embarrasment and a disgrace to this state.
This is the only election I am upset about. Our new senator declared "I hate those @$%#%(* Republicans"! He chose MN and Norm Coleman because Al once lived here, and he thought he could win here. He ran, and has won out of pure hatred and malevolence. I am deeply offended by him and his declaration of hate. What a disgrace. The fact that it was so close, and so clearly illegal and has given the democrats complete control over our government is salt in the wounds. Plach!
