Given the American media....
.....has unwittingly become a propaganda arm for a country which is ruled by arguably the most brutal dictatorship in the world today, I find myself repeating this over and over and over and over:

Oh, come on, they can't be all that bad--they have pretty girls! I used to think that East Germany was bad, and then Katarina Witt!
Actually, I used to think that Communism was awful, and then I walked through Checkpoint Charlie and spent a day in East Berlin. Expletives did not suffice to describe what I saw in the showpiece area of Communism. It is strange that so-called "journalists" cannot figure this one out; my favorite so far is when the guy went to the "ski resort" and didn't figure out that nobody there knew how to ski, and they were all wearing the same outfit in slightly different colors.
