162

The Minnesota Twins have done their darnedest to choke away the AL Central division. But after losing the first two games of a three game series against the Kansas City Royals, the Twins are exactly where they were after sweeping the Chicago White Sox earlier this week....one-half game ahead in first place.

The good news for today is that no matter what happens, the Twins will not be completely eliminated. Even if they lose and the Sox win, Chicago will be up by a half game. If that's the case, Chicago will have to play the Detroit Tigers on Monday to make up a game which was rained out earlier this season.

If I had to make a prediction, I believe both the Twins and Sox will win today. If that happens, Chicago will still have to beat Detroit tomorrow afternoon just to force a one-game playoff against the Twins on Tuesday.

Looks like we're just getting warmed for what will be an intriguing baseball postseason!
