Exploit first, seek realistic solutions never

I will never accept it as "the times we live in" when I hear news of innocent people being gunned down. In addition to the murders of three employees of Covenant School in Nashville, TN, three nine-year old students also were killed by a female shooter identifying as a trans man. In addition to the heartbreak that the victims' families endure knowing they have to bury their loved ones, they must now be subjected to their deceased family members being used as political pawns.

I will also not concede as normal the leftist demagoguery that always ensues before the victims' bodies are even cold. These soulless ghouls insist that if only NRA-lovin' Republicans would have supported leftist gun control initiatives, these incidents would have never occurred. How they can make this claim literally within 2-3 hours of a shooting spree when so few facts are ascertained I'll never know.

By now the leftist playbook on addressing mass shootings (except those which occur every weekend in Chicago) is as predictable as the western sunset:

  • Within minutes of news breaking, exploit the incident by laying blame on an inanimate object (i.e. the gun), the NRA, and Republicans.
  • If the shooter is "non-traditional," (i.e. a reliable member of the leftist voting bloc), blame Republican policies for stirring up the gunman's anger.
  • When the facts of the incident inevitably puncture lefty narratives, deflect attention by moving on to the next outrage or engage in perpetual gaslighting about the incident (some people to this day believe the gunshot wounds suffered by then Congresswoman Gabby Giffords in early 2011 were a direct result of Sarah Palin's political action committee placing a crosshair symbol on a map of Giffords' Congressional district).

And while many leftists shriek "SPEECH IS VIOLENCE" and thus attempt to tie a violent incident to "right wing rhetoric," they never hold themselves to that same standard, even when a more plausible link can be determined. Remember how just over a month after America's favorite commie grandpa said a GOP healthcare bill would result in thousands of Americans dying, a number of Republican Congressman were shot at by a deranged Bernie bro? Heck, Sen. Sanders even doubled down on that claim less than two weeks later

Urban Progressive Privilege is real. Examples?

How about soon-to-be-former-Chicago-Mayor Lori Lightfoot last year?

And what could potentially happen when a mentally ill person hears this spoon-fed pablum about how they'll be a victim of genocide?

Then you have the Press Secretary for the Governor of Arizona tweeting this out a mere 12 hours after the Nashville tragedy.

Perhaps the most vile aspect of this episode is the suggestion by some that the six innocent victims murdered are not even the most aggrieved.

Whether trans individuals are murdered in cold blood (like at Club Q) or actually commit the murders, they're the victims regardless. Very convenient.

In the end, this boils down to a simple fact: We live in a fallen world. Evil exists. Those who look to execute a mass shooting know full well they'll at best go to jail for the rest of their natural lives or at worst die at the hands of law enforcement. As such, shooters look for a "soft target" in which they're able to commit as many atrocities as possible before their spree ends.

The Covenant shooter was no different.

The solution is obvious: have heightened armed security in such areas or allow law abiding gun owners to exercise their rights. I know gun grabbers shriek like stuck pigs when this is suggested, but it is literally the most effective deterrent to spree killings.

Contrary to the grabbers' belief, we 2A advocates want to work together to stem the tide of these senseless killings. However, when they put forth the hyperbolic false choice of "the kids or the guns," it's sadly obvious that these aren't sane, rational people.
