Despite the less than ideal weather conditions (32 degrees, flurries, blustery winds), today’s showing gives a clear indication that the people of Minnesota are completely fed up with our overreaching government. The $6.6 billion tax hike for the
The rally also featured some impassioned speeches delivered by the likes of MN House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, CD5 GOP candidate Barb Davis White and Rep. Michele Bachmann (CD6). In fact, Bachmann’s speech prompted MC Chris Baker to say he would reconsider his position on banning human cloning if it meant we could have more representatives like her. And you think the left is irrational over one Rep. Bachmann?
But I digress.
I seem to recall that at last year's rally the global warming crowd was nearby with a protest of their own. Given today's weather conditions, they were conspicuously absent.

Check the Strib. They say "about 1,000 people attended the rally." The bias is showing through pretty strongly there these days.

ReplyDeleteHere's KSTP: "Nearly a thousand people were at the Capitol Saturday rallying against increased taxes."
And a police officer who specializes in crowd control estimated a gathering in the thousands. But I suppose he too has an agenda, eh?

ReplyDeleteThe first comment attributed the 1,000 person estimate by the Star Tribune to their supposed "liberal bias". KSTP said "nearly a thousand", or less than what the Strib said, yet KSTP is right-wing. Ergo, the crowd estimate of the Strib is not the product of some supposed "liberal bias".
As for a "police officer who specializes in crowd control", that basically means nothing. Get an aerial shot and it should be pretty easy to lay out a grid and estimate it pretty accurately. But since no one really cares about this silly event, why bother?

ReplyDeleteThen it seems quite pathetic for someone to leave anonymous comments on a blog which talks about an event no one cares about.
Good post, Brad. If you look at the pictures, there's more than 1,000 people there. A lot more.
ReplyDeleteThis is an old game, of course - underestimate the numbers if you don't like the event and overstate support if you do. What matters is that a lot of people did show up, even though the weather was bad. And my guess is that a lot more people feel the same way as the folks who did show up. The DFL and their friends may be able to underestimate a crowd at such an event, but in November the numbers get counted.
And by the way, anonymous hit-and-run comments are cowardly.

ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly!! Whether it was 100 who showed up or 100,000, there was enough energy stirred up that the conservative base is ready to get to work for victory in November!!
Why no video-tape of Kline, Bachmann and Davis-White?
ReplyDeleteWhy, so you can cut and paste their comments for your sick and twisted amusement?
