Let’s see. Grover Cleveland Alexander saved it, struck out Tony Lazzeri in the 7th inning to stop the Yankees. Legend has it that Alexander was hung over (he had won the game the day before and wasn’t expecting to pitch – sort of the baseball equivalent of Max McGee in Super Bowl I).
